About me
Rachel Sturges (she/her) is entering her second year of rabbinical school at RRC this fall, hard at work becoming professionally Jewish. She is originally from Lawrenceville, GA, but most recently arrived in Philadelphia from Boston, where she was working as a professional luthier and bartending at Lehrhaus, a Jewish tavern and beit midrash. She is especially interested in connecting across religious difference, the intersection of music and ritual, and bringing Jewish learning to life in accessible and creative ways. When she’s not deep in texts, you can find her running, painting, or playing the violin and banjo—sometimes all in the same week, rarely all at the same time.
