Our middle school students are learning and growing not just in their academics, but also in their feelings and emotions. And as they strengthen connections with others and deepen their understanding of themselves, it’s the perfect time to gain a better understanding of the Torah through social emotional learning (SEL). In this session we will first explore the importance of SEL for this age group, and explore the new ISJL 6th grade curriculum which incorporates SEL throughout each lesson.

The Art of Sweet Tea and Torah invites participants to slow down, sip something sweet, and be B’yachad: All Together Now in creative practice. We’ll work with text and respond with paint, collage, color, and imagination. No art experience needed—just curiosity and a willingness to play. Together we’ll explore how art-making can open new pathways into tradition, personal reflection, and shared meaning.
